Today we went to tech at Tamaki Collage. This week was the final week for editing and Videoing for our tech movie that was going to be presenting on the last week. Me,Fui and Chavda have been creating a movie with an animation on Line following something that we have been confident about. We have made scripts and finish filming now it is time to edit. When editing I need to think about the music I use and the title I put in.

Kia ora everybody I’m Angela and I am here to tell you why we should never change our national flag. Would you like it if not only the flag was changed, but also our culture, our people, our food and our religion? As New Zealanders we should take a stand and stick together as we all live on this land.

Leaving our flag’s history and honor would mean us New Zealanders are disrespecting the original flag of New Zealand, and disrespecting the efforts of those who fought with that flag on their sleeves.
Yes designing the flags took a lot of time and effort, and yes they have quiet attractive colours, but wouldn't saving our money be sufficient. Imagine all the money wasted changing signage or to change every flag sewn or printed onto every uniform would cost a lot of money. Money that could be spent wisely to keep everyone above the breadline.

Did you know that in 1992, the former Minister of Māori Affairs, Matiu Rata asked to re-establish our national identity. Our current flag first flew on the 24th of March, 1902 and it still flies now, so why change it. You wouldn’t like it if your country’s flag was changed too so why change this one? Why change the flag that has been flying for over 119 years. Ask yourselves why you would do such a thing to your land?

Although the options of the new flag were attractive changing the flag would mean letting go of our past and changing our identity as New Zealanders, something I’m not prepared to do.

LI:To write a speech that persuades others to think the way you do

This week the Seniors has been working on speeches and the Juniors have been working on memorizing poem. We need to give eye contact and have expression as well as hooking the audience with persuasive language features. We needed to be confident to project our voice to the class. I think I have done a really good job because my language features changed from my last speech. What I could work on is building my confidence so I could be better when reading my speech. On Wednesday we had a guest visitor Mr Stevenson from tamaki collage to judge the selected peoples speech. In our class head girl of 2019 mele came first. Second came Jack head boy and third was Marieta. 

RISE UP: THE STORY OF THE DAWN RAIDS AND THE POLYNESIAN PANTHERS

Today me and Haylee worked collaborative to create a DLO about THE STORY OF THE DAWN RAIDS AND THE POLYNESIAN PANTHERS. First we read the story together and then formed an opinion on what we thought about this true story. My opinion on this event is that these people have no right to march into a house at an unreasonable time and arresting them with no Waring or reasons. I am proud that my county took a stand to fight for there own right my marching on June 1971 for there rights to be in a country. In our DLO we have surmised the story in our own words and included picture of the Polynesian panthers logo as well as the march that took place.

Swimming at Panmure Lagoon!!

Today we had our third session of Swimming at Panmure Lagoon. Our instruction We first split into 2 groups and went over the pools went entering. I was with Joel,Alex,Nihdi, Teponamu,Aung naig,Eyaka and my self. Next we practiced kicking our legs using some boards. The last thing we did was floating on our backs. We first did it by our self then we got into partner and practice doing it together. We also learnt some safety entry. Next we did some pencil diving which needed us to dive straight need without bending our knees. We also did some diving. We needed to make sure that our legs we not bended as well as bellow the surface when kicking

Robotics at Tech

Today we went to Tech at tamaki collage. Today tasks was to join all our programs to finishes the obstetrical. First we needed it to move in a square shaped The blocks is used was Action. I needed to think about how long I needed my robot to spin to turn right. It took a lot of try's but I got there in the end. We then needed to make it avoid objects using the ultrasonic sonic sensor. We also needed to make it follow the white line. Lastly we needed to make it stop at the x shape. This was hard as we only used to programming it to follow the black line. This week we didn't have a winner as we all did not complete the task. A big thank to Mrs Muinzo and Mrs Dun for this amazing experience hopeful we get to do more next term.

HITT

Today we had another session of HITT aka High-intensity interval training.First we got into partners and went to a station. I was with Avalon and the first station we went Push up. Then we did push ups. We could either cross our legs and push our hands up or do the normal type. Then we did Mountain Climbers we used the stage as well as the floor. The last thing we did was a squads beep to the say big sally up big sally down. We needed to beat LS1 as they had 12 people left lucky we beat them by 1 person. The hardest part was the push ups and as I always used my hips instead of my hands.

Time table Challenge

This maths game that I have created helps you practice your 6,7,8 times table which we should all consider practicing. If you get the correct answer then you will see that I have created a maths icon moving using a gif maker. If you get the wrong answer then there is two buttons, the first one is provided for you to try again and the second one is linked to a video that can help you practice your time table using your fingers. There is also a home button if you wanted to try another time tables. Creating this game really challenge me to think of the wrong answer and the right answer. Thinking about my layout and theme was important so it was clear to see what I included. Also thinking about my font and the size of my equations and answer were important so people could read what was on each slide. First we would plan out the layout for our games and the questions we were going to include in our maths book. Then we would start to create our games using google presentation. At the end of my game I have a link that leads you to a from where you can leave feedback.This was a really interesting task as we all got to use our digital drawing skills.Overall I was really happen how my game turned out because all the positive feedback was given to help me improve.
