Narrative

The Midnight Spirit

The Monster-Paragraph 1
Thump! As Jack and Jill walked to school they heard something strange. It was very scary. When they entered the school, the door creaked close as if someone was there. Jack and Jill got really scared and ran to their classroom as fast as they could. After a long day at school they were walking  home and praying the noise would be gone but then Thump! the sound was there again, they ran super fast like a cheetah. When they got home they were making their costume for Halloween because tomorrow  was Halloween and they were very excited.

It was Friday 10:00am in the morning and they were walking to school. But as they walked they heard the sound. Suddenly a loud Thump! Filled their ears. But this time they didn't run away  they  went to go Investigate and what they found was a monster living in a old cabin around dead animals.

When the school teacher called out the roll Jack and Jill did not respond, so they called the police to find them.They were found where the monster lived so they shut it down and  it was banded to enter.

Meanwhile they left  and went home and worked on there costume. Then at 11:59am they started to get ready for Halloween it was nearly Midnight and they were looking forward to seeing the monster again.

“Come on hurry up” Jack’s Dad shouted. They went to the basement to find some old buckets for their candy. When they were in the basement they felt something strange, there was a devil spirit and he was looking in the basement. First they went to go get mom and dad to help but when the devil saw everyone he ran to a Swap. The spirit went to the Swap because that was where the he lived and they asked him if he knew  the monster and he said yes he had wanted to catch him for years.

He told them a story,  he said there was an army and he and the monster were in it anyone could join. They were best friend but then one day he tried to kill him so then the spirit escape.

Then they set up a plan each person will kill him so like if devil is low then Jack comes in a tries to kill the monster. Then they battled the monster the devil was very strong so they were happy  because the monster was getting weak so they kept on trying then a huge strike from Mom and Dad killed him because they could see that the spirit was a little low.

But then he stood up tall and mighty. The spirit had used all his special power but when he trying to kill the monster there was not enough powers left. So he ran away back to his swap. Mum and dad said ”I think we should go” But Jill and Jack said “No” Jack was very confused and he didn’t know what he had to do. So all he could think of was sacrifice for his family. The monster picked up his sword and killed Jack. Jill was terrified and her tears came down her neck then Jill wiped away her tears and she got so angry that she took the sword of her mother and putted the sword through his chest and killed him and then he died. Then something strange was happening something was coming out of the monster it was Jack soul and then it went in to Jack’s heart and then  Jack came alive.Then Jill hugged him and just in time it was midnight was over.Then they went and knocked on to people's doors for candy they had a lot and then they went home.All the screams of joy filled there room and they stuffed the yummy delicious chocolate in there mouths then Jacks says i am going to get something it was the Monsters sword and he said”What should we do about it”Then Jill added”We give it to the spirit because he helped us”Then the next day on there way to school mum and dad dropped off  Jack and Jill then first they went to the swap near the monsters old cabin it was far away from their school a little. And then they gave  the spirit the sword.

What i learnt was how to write a narrative.I learnt this by doing this task.What we had to do was write a narrative that was the topic Jack and Jill then we had to use our plan to help us with our story.Then we had to draw pictures to make our story fun.

What i celebrate



I learnt how i celebrate New years and Fathers day.I learnt this by doing this task.What i did was talk about New year.What My family celebration is New year.What we do to celebrate is each family will fill a basket with treats,clothes and food.Then we give it to each family.We also have to bring food to because we have a big feast.Then we pray and sing songs to god.Fro Fathers day My family celebration is Fathers day.On Fathers Day Our Dad gets to pick what he wants and what he wan’ts to eat.Then we head out and go to our uncles house to play and to have fun.Then we add picture's to make it look pretty.

Tamaki Wrap

I learnt what plastic is made out of.I also learnt where plastics gose.I learnt this by doing this task.What w had to do was to be splited into 4 groups.Then we had to visit the 4 tables because on those tables there activities about Waste.The first activity was How much Auckland makes rubbish in a week.It was a size of a food ball field so then we had to stick chippy packets on the paper.For the second Activity we had to do the same this by the Question was different It was called where dose the Plastic bag go.I also learnt that plastic bags look like jelly fish when it is in the water then the turtles will eat it and then died.The third Activity was we had to think of things we can recycle that is not Plastic Bag.Then we drawer thing that we could recycle.Then the last Activity was we had to put on nature photos that do no contain plastic.



Articles

I learnt how to use the 6 hats.I also learnt how to compare and contrast.I learnt it by doing this activity. What we had to do was we had to pick 2 articles that are the same subject by different story.Then we had to use the Venn diagram to compare and contrast.For current events we had to answer the question that said on the slides of each hat.The colors of the hats are blue,black,yellow,green,red and the white.

Commenting

What i learnt was how to comment and what i need to put in the comments. I learnt this by doing this activity. What i had to do was put in engorgement a question and things they need to work on.I commented on Claudia i though she did a great job but still need to improve.

Articles

LI: to engage with current events.What i learnt was to compare and contrast.I also learnt how to use the 5 hats.What we had to do for the compare and contrast was we had to pick a topic i picked The large fire in London. Then we had to pick 2 articles that is the same topic as we picked then we had to write what was things that are different and then things that are the same.For current events we had to do the same thing but we had to fill in the slide for example it will say how do you feel and i will write sad about what happen.

Matariki

What i learnt was what the stars mean and there names.I learnt it by doing this task.What we had to do was we had to Pick a continent between Africa,Asia,Europe,America and Australia.I picked America. Then we had to find some events that they celebration.Then we had to talk about what they do for example i chose Thanksgiving so i write down What they do is have a big fest and pray.

I learnt how to skim and scan when i read and i also learnt form the story that it is good to share.I learnt it by read this book.The book was about a boy named sammy.He like stuff he would buy new stuff like computers and more.

Narrtive Checking



I learnt how to comment on google docs.I learnt it by doing this task.What we had to do was pick a partner and read there narrtive. Then we had to comment what we or them need to fix.We had to comment on the Jack and Jill i worked with Mele and Alice.Mele's narrative was about the Creepy Monster takes over Halloween.I like her story because it made sense and Her story had a great hook.

Technology

LI- To use BRAIN acronym to identify possible changes to a technology piece or system.I learnt what is a system and a piece.I learnt it by doing this task.What we had to do was get in to three groups but we went into four.Then we had to do the slides that Mr Wong and Mr oglive made for us and make a copy.Then we had to pick a picture and then talk about the Benefits,Risks,Alternatives,Initiatives and Next or Nothing.These words stand out for Brain.

Maths Strategys

LI:To solve Addition question’s using tidy numbers and place value.Attempt to problem solve subtraction questions using the same strategies.I learnt how to use different ways to solve question addition.I learnt it by doing this task.What we had to do was use the place value house and the number line.

Key word summary

Keyword summary
LI: identify keywords and key phrases.I learnt what is keywords and key phrases.I also learnt how to skim and scan when we read.I learnt it by doing the task.what we had to do was make a copy of the key word summary template and fill it in.We had fill in the table lie who,when,where,why and how only use keywords.Then there was a 25 word summary it was a little trick because we had to get the imported information from the book and summaries it in 25 words.

Story opener

LT:To write and exciting Hook.This week i learnt how to write and exciting hook and a story opener.I learnt it by doing this task.What we had to do was start writing the first paragraph of the Orientation.Our story was Jack and Jill.Then we had to write it on the google doc.After that we had to show the teacher.

Compare and contrast


Today i learnt how to compare and contrast.I also learnt what is a piece and system of technology.I learnt it by doing this activity.What we had to do was pick a piece and a system form our t chart.Then we lists what are different and put it on the compare and contrast and then for both we need to list things that are the same.

Subtraction

LT: To solve Subtraction streatley.I learnt how to use a number line,place value and a agrathem.I learned  it by doing a activity.What we had to do was get a subtraction question and answer it by using the place value house or the number line.Then we have to split up the small number and then start to subtraction using your numbers that are splited up.

Word web

Lt:To identify keywords and key phrases.I learnt how to Use a word web and keywords.I also learnt how to connect word with a word.I learnt it by doing an activity.What we had to do was find a word on the ls1 site.Then we had to use the word web to Make connections.Then we had to link thing that are the same as the word like for example gadget so i would put phone or technology because that link to the gadget.

LT:To define a piece of technology and to define a technological.I learnt how to order things of technology.I also learnt what is a piece and system technology and input,output and transformation.I learnt it by doing an activity.What we had to do was get  a parten mine was alice.we had to sort out all different picture.We had to place them on the google draw.There was two one for Piece and one for system.When we finished we had to write our own definition about Piece and systems.

 Learning Intention LI: to critically examine a current event using De Bono’s thinking hats.
 I learnt how to read a article and use the 6 coloured hats.I learnt it by doing this activity.What we had to do was pick a article from kiwi kids news i worked with Avalon and Charlize.We picked Trump pulling out of Climate Change.For the white hat we had to talk about facts,Red hat was Feelings,Yellow hat was something positive that Trump dose,Black hat was  negative,Green was what will happen if he didn’t come out of the deal and the blue hat is what was the purpose of author to write the article.

Setting Descrption


This week we will use our 5 senses to write a setting description and they are taste,feel,smell and see.Mr O worked with each group using Setting form a site that he found.Then we had to Choose 2 of the settings we found on our inserting places slide that we did last week to write a setting description.

Measurement Converter

LI-Units of Measurement for Length.I learnt how to Use a ruler measure the document with the measurement. Measure in cm and then convert into mm using a place value house.I learnt it by Creating a version of the docment and show how i measured one line and converted the measurement.

SSR

LI To write a character description LI To investigate figurative language.I learnt how to use figurative language to help create a picture in the reader’s head.I learnt it by doing this activity.What we had to do was  pick a character from another activity.I picked Joseph parker what we had to do was but in on the google drawing and describing His Personality,Looks and Some Facts about him.Then we had to add Some figurative language like Smile,Meathop,Personification and hyperbole and then show the teacher.

Recycling Games

Making Connection

LI: to make connections with a text.This week we had to Make Connection.I learnt how to make connections with Text to self,Text to Text and Text to world.I learnt it by doing this activity called Making Connections.What we had to do was write about text to self which is from the text pick a sentence that you have done before in the text.Then for Text to text is the same thing but you need a different book to do the text to text and just the same for text to World.

Waste

IMG_20170512_100149.jpgLI:To learn about the amount of rubbish we produce.I learnt that there were 237 of recycle,Organic was 310 and solid was 432+400 altogether PBS had put in the rubbish bin in a week was  1379.I also learnt that Recycle was old things that are going to be reused,Organic items are just like apple cores,banana peels, and more. Solid can not be used anymore because it has been already used by people eating food from packets of chips,paper and foil wraps.I learn it for the activity that we did with Mr Ogilvie and Mr Wong.First Mr Wong but us into four groups.I was in the recycle group what we had to do was find some things that needed to be recycle and then put on the sheets so the hall wouldn’t be messy.So we put on gloves and starter to pick up cartons and cardboard.We also had to tell mark how many recycled things in the bin.

Prove It


LI: to identify punctuation marks.
I learnt that we had to Choose a punctuation mark from this text called Perfect Paper Planes and Worm Work.Then Find the same Punctuation in a different book or other text. Use Prove it! to show your findings and explain what the punctuation mark does.I got this for the Kung fu panda slide.This was kinda of easy because all we had to do was find the punction marks in the text.

SSR Selfie

In Reading Mr Wong teach us how to us the SSR Selfie we had to Read a whole picture book or a chapter book for at least 15 minutes. Take a selfie with your book. Write a post about what happened in the part you read we had 3 levels.For level 1 we had to have a What happened, who did it in our blurb for explain the story.Level 2 was What happened, where and when it happened; who did it and for level 3 was what happened, where and when it happened; who did it, why and how they did it.I think this was kinda easy but level 1 was the best for me

How did you learn?
I had the answer 26 because i took away 2 for the 7 and added it  to the 8 which made a 10 then the 7 would turn into a 5 because i took away 2 which made 5 so then i add the other 5 which would make 10 so i have 2 tens and 6 one so my answer will be 26.

Japanese Sport
