Day 4 - Activity 1 - The Southern Lights - Week 3

This week I needed to use the word ‘LIGHTS’ to write an acrostic poem about the Southern Lights. I thought about what related to the word Lights. This was for the people who loved to visit the southern Lights also known as northern lights. I really like the color in this picture because it blends well.

Lights in the sky
In the spotlight
Gasing upon the stars
Hundreds of stars
The brightest star
Shooting star

  1. Hello Angela,
Thanks for completing this task and thanks a lot for sharing your advice and the information you have done. I have enjoyed every blog post you have done. I really enjoyed reading your poem this sounds great. I also like how you wrote what you have learned in your blurb. Next time attribute your photo.

What was your favorite thing to do?

  2. Hello again Angela,

What a beautiful poem about stars! Did you know that poems like these are called acrostic poems? It means certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase. You can practise writing acrostic poems using any words, even your name! It would be pretty fun to write a poem using your own name.

I love how you made the poem all about a shooting star towards the end. It was a smooth transition from a sky filled with hundreds of stars to this special shooting star. Have you ever seen one? Did you make a wish?

Have an awesome day and I hope to see more of your blog posts soon!

    Susie :)
