Tesselation
This week for math we were looking at Tessellation. Tessellation is an arrangement of shapes closely fitted together, especially of polygons in a repeated pattern without gaps or overlapping. This is my Tessellation. I have thought about my colours to show my pattern in a certain way. I have picked the Crossed liked shape in order to make my pattern. The aim was to cover as much of the white squares as possible. Doing this I noticed that I picked a small shape which was harder because the smaller my shape was the more I need to think about where I could place it. But if I picked a Wider shape if would pretty much cover most of the white squares. The colours I used was dark magenta 1,2 and 3. Next time I think I would use more brighter colours and a wider shape.

Financial Literacy
Today some students from LS2 learnt about Financial Literacy ( Money Learning). Today learning intention was - To understand profit equals income minus expenditure. The first thing we needed to do was make a recording sheet in our maths books. We needed to gather some items 2 dice one number 1-6 and a dice that was plain so that we could use a dice to write J,J,H,H,B,B we then gather 2 different colored dices.I was playing with Angela and we were adding up our balances at the end we found that Angela made the most money but had a big amount so that meant that she overdraft she didn't make a profit. l made 121 dollars and taking away 70 dollars for rent l ended up with 60 dollars.

Time table Challenge
This maths game that I have created helps you practice your 6,7,8 times table which we should all consider practicing. If you get the correct answer then you will see that I have created a maths icon moving using a gif maker. If you get the wrong answer then there is two buttons, the first one is provided for you to try again and the second one is linked to a video that can help you practice your time table using your fingers. There is also a home button if you wanted to try another time tables. Creating this game really challenge me to think of the wrong answer and the right answer. Thinking about my layout and theme was important so it was clear to see what I included. Also thinking about my font and the size of my equations and answer were important so people could read what was on each slide. First we would plan out the layout for our games and the questions we were going to include in our maths book. Then we would start to create our games using google presentation. At the end of my game I have a link that leads you to a from where you can leave feedback. This was a really interesting task as we all got to use our digital drawing skills.Overall I was really happen how my game turned out because all the positive feedback was given to help me improve. Thank you

Math Vocabulary
Today LS2 has been talking about Math Vocabulary. We did this to help strengthen our connections to math language. We first looked at exact same words which was Plane but each of these words had different meanings. One meant a transport and the other meant a flat surface in math language. This is a DLO that was created by Mrs Anderson. Our task was to drag the Maths words under the right label. To do this we needed to communicate with each other. If we got stuck with one of the math words we were able to use the math dictionary which was located on the LS2 math site. The interesting part about this task was learning new math words I never knew.

Place Value Partitioning
This DLO shows the strategy of Place Value Partitioning to solve addition problems. During our math lesson I practiced using this strategy with number and word Question. When I was answering the word question look for the math. My screencastify shows the strategy I used. Something I found interesting was that the more I used this strategy the more I got faster using it.

Blog Post Data Analysis
I have created a DLO about my blog post analysis. My DLO that shows my goal, a graph of my total blog posts and an explanation that analyses my blogging. This is a graph that shows how much blogging I have done over the past few years with my chromebook. I first wrote why there was a graph. Then I wrote my highest and lowest blog post totals for each month for each year. Something I found interesting was looking at the blogging that I have done this year and last year. I would say there is a significant amount of change in my blog posts over the past few years.

Fractions Solving
This week for maths I was sloving a promblem with fractions. The qestions was Bob has $30 to spend at Rainbow's End. He spends ⅔ of it in the ticket 7/10 of the remaining amount at the shop. After that spends ⅔ of what's left on food. How much money did he take home? What you do first is Divided 3 and 30 which will equal 10 then you times 2 and 10 which will equal 20 and your answer is 20 dollars.

Problem Solving
This week for Maths we were learning how to solve a problem with fractions. The questions was Joel is ordering pizza for her group. There are 14 people in the group. She wants to buy enough pizza so that each person could have 1/3 of the pizza. What is the least number of pizzas Joel should order? Each pizza costs $9.99 how much does she spend/How much should each person pay. First thing you need to do is write down your equation. Our equation is going to be ⅓ of 15 to make it easy you need to divide 15 and 3 which will equal 5 then you times 5 and the 1 which will equal 5.What you do first is get the five from the previous answer then you times it by the price of the pizza which will equal 50 then you times the people which is 14 times 50 so each people should pay 3.

Adding Decimals
This week fro maths we are making a DLO about something we learned. We learned how to add decimals. What you need to do first is write you equation. My equation will be 4.2 + 5.8. The aim is to make a whole number. Add something to one of you numbers to make a whole number. For this equation I will add .2 to the 5.8 and that will make 6. Then I need to take away .2 form the 4.2 because we took the .2 and gave it to 5.8. Then add 6 and 4 and your answer should be 10. For our book we needed to go on the class site and go on the maths to find out what the question were. Then we needed to answer the questions. This was easy because I understand how the questions and strategy worked.

Decimals Game
This week we are learning to add Decimals numbers. I am now practicing on how to add decimals numbers on a site called Mathopolis. The game gives you questions and options on which answer is right. This is an image and an example of what it gives you. I got the answer right. Another site that can help you is Mathsisfun. It shows you how to add decimals and the position of the numbers behind the point. It also gives you some other ways to add decimals.

M&M Infromatiom
This week group 2 has created a Presentation about M&Ms. This experiment determined how many M&M’s we found in the 45g packet that we received and also the color ratio in the packet. This DLO will show our findings and the estimations made by our group and the whole class. My group was Lyric, Magenta,Jeremiah, and Te-pounamu. This is a presentation that we have created. We have included: Bar Graph, Pie Graph, Mars Statement, Facts and what LS2 and we thought. Our favorite part of our study is eating the M&Ms.

Tidy Numbers
This week for Maths we were learning how to solve times table with the Tidy Number Strategy. For this task Mrs Anderson gave us some questions. What we did was we took those questions and made a DLO on how to solve it using to the Tidy Number Strategy. What I did was I picked out the numbers that were in the question 1.It was 6 x 8.Then the did the second one it was 8 x 4.To slove this out you can grab a number from your Qesution for exsample 8 then you need to times it by a number I have used five the answer should be 20 a way to find out what would work with the eight is to look at the eight times table. Then you times your four to a another number I choses 3 becuase it makes 12 then you add the 12 and 20 and it makes 24.

How to solve the 9 times table?
How do you solve the 9 times table? This week Mrs Anderson's maths group were learning how to solve the 9 times table and bigger numbers using the 10 times table strategies. A quick way to solve your 9 times tables it to times a number for example 3 then you times it by 10. Your answer should be 30 then you minus 3 the answer should be 27. Then you need to add it to the top and you answer should say 3 x 9=27.
My DLO has Examples of what it should look like as well as an explanation and Screencastify.
