Auckland Harbour Bridge
This week fro Inquiry we were making a presentaion about the Auckland Harbour Bridge. I learnt that General Lord Cobham came to perform the ceremony. The Navy was sent to the harbour bridge to provide the guard of honour. The prime minister had given a well paid tribute to the men that had built this. General Lord Cobham pulled the tozel and the harbour bridge was open. Did you know that they wanted a bridge so they asked government if they could build a bridge from Auckland city two the North sore. The government said no because it would take to long and would b e to much money. So they asked one more time and the government said you can make a bridge put you have to pay for all the material so they made a plan and gave it to the government and he said put you still have to pay for all the things and material. It costed 6 million to pay for all the materials like steel and more. The bridge is made out of truss which are triangles and lattice girders these are long tunnels connected together by triangles. They had to pay a toll which was 20c each time you went by.
