Whare Hauora Opening

On Thursday, August 9th we went to the hall to listen to people who have sponsored and help create the new Whare Hauora Medi Cube. We were Lucky enough to meet Sir Peter Thompson head of the Barfoot and Thompson company with Kiri Barfoot. We first had a prayer (karakia) lead by the Kaumatua who has blessed our some of our school's building before. Secondly got to see the Kapa Haka group. The girls displayed a dance with a poi and the boys did a dance with sticks. Next, we got Mr. Johnston to speak and introduce Sir Peter Thompson to the stage to talk about the New Whare Hauora Medi Cube. After Sir Peter Thompson had talked to us about the medi cube and thanked people who helped him we got a very special person who owned a company who sponsored Panmure Bridge School to create the New Whare Hauora Medi cube and is the from Starship. We were lucky to get a lot of people from Starship and the ADHB to come and see the new Whare Hauora Medi cube. Later on, we went near the medi cube to see Sarah Williams cut the ribbon, we all clapped it got cut and were excited that the Whare Hauora Medi Cube was now open. This Medi Cube was for medication purposes so that all students that are sick can visit the Medi Cube and get checked by our expert Nures. I really like the idea of this, and the art that is on the Medi Cube. A big thank you to Starship Children's Health, Starship Foundation, Auckland District Health Board, Cube and Barfoot and Thompson for sponsoring this Medi Cube.
